EHS Students Selected for Leadership Institute
Two EHS Students Selected for Leadership Institute
Emporia High School juniors Hannah Duncan and Elvis Umana have been accepted into the Youth Civic Leadership Institute at the Dole Institute of Politics, University of Kansas in July.
Misty DeDonder, gifted services teacher, said each Kansas high school may nominate up to two students for the Leadership Institute held July 13-15.
The Youth Civic Leadership Institute is for incoming high school seniors throughout Kansas. The three-day, two-night program includes a variety of speakers, outings, workshops and brainstorming sessions focusing on the importance of civic engagement in our democracy.
YCLI includes a visit to the State Capitol in Topeka to meet with our state leaders and discuss issues. This event is provided at no cost to the accepted students.
