Emporia Public Schools Receives Clean Fiscal Audit for 2023-24 School Year
Emporia, Kansas – On Wednesday evening the Board of Education received a presentation from Mr. Sean Gordon, CPA with Gordon CPA, summarizing the results of the district’s fiscal audit for the 2023-24 school year. The audit, conducted according to strict professional standards, resulted in an unmodified opinion, which is the highest level of assurance auditors can provide. This means that the district’s financial statements are accurate and comply with accepted accounting principles.
The federal program audit, which follows thorough federal and state rules, confirmed that the district’s practices meet high standards. It also found no issues with how the district handled or reported its federal funding.
