District Administration

Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!  This is going to be a GREAT year!!

The excitement of our school year is in the air!  Our new certified staff members’ professional development began on July 26th and returning certified staff members began on Monday, August 7th.  Jump Start for students new to a school is on Tuesday, August 15, and our First Day of School for all students is Wednesday, August 16th.

Thank you for choosing Emporia Public Schools, which is an amazing place to learn, develop and maintain lifelong relationships, and celebrate everything that education can offer.  We are proud of our Jones Early Childhood Development Center, our six elementary schools that include Logan Avenue, Riverside, Timmerman, Village, Walnut, and William Allen White, Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School. Whether you are returning or new, there are positive changes that have been happening over the summer as our bond construction work has continued.  Each of our schools either has or will have, improvements made through our generous community with the bond work.

Our first priority is the safety and well-being of every individual in our schools and buildings. Our district aligns with the state’s academic standards through our Strategic Plan’s Priorities and Goals through lessons taught by our talented staff.  One of the many qualities that I love the most about Emporia Public Schools is the dedication of our staff members to each of our students and their success.  Elementary students have their core subjects as well as Art, Music, Physical Education, Library and Technology classes. We are proud to offer a wide variety of electives as well as dual credit classes at the secondary level.

The Boys and Girls Club provides after-school care for elementary-aged students and there are a number of extracurricular activities and sports options at the secondary level.  Emporia Public Schools truly is the place to be for a great education!

Welcome back to Emporia Public Schools and visit our district website throughout the year for scheduled activities and updates. We are always #EmporiaProud!

Sincerely,

Dr. Allison Anderson-Harder, Superintendent
