The analysis of data helps prepare and support educators with efforts to foster learning environments that demonstrate a balance of cognitive and social-emotional development and achieve district goals.

Teaching & Learning recognizes the power of data when promoting classroom, school, and district improvement efforts. We believe it is necessary to identify and provide tools that allow for gathering, organizing, and making efficient and effective use of data. As the focus shifts from teaching to learning, data becomes essential and provides a mechanism for measuring progress, evaluating program and instructional effectiveness, guiding curriculum development and alignment, allocating resources, promoting accountability, and, most importantly, building futures - one student at a time.

Access to a variety of types of evidence helps meet the ongoing and changing needs of students and staff. In addition to academic data, it is necessary to collect and analyze data in relationship to the 5 state outcomes (Kindergarten Readiness, Social Emotional Growth, Individual Plans of Study, Graduation Rates, and Postsecondary Success).

With a focus on results, there is a need for and power in collaborative data analysis. Evidence is used to inform practice and coordinate efforts. Data gathered from both formative and summative assessment are critical in evaluating performance and closing the feedback loop.

Providing content in visual formats (infographics, graphs, charts, etc.) makes data accessible and informative. Reporting, analyzing, and communicating data unlocks the full potential of individuals, teams, schools, and the district. Routine and timely integration of data and analytics at the individual, classroom, building, and district level is essential!

Data serves as a tool to improve strategies and systems as well as provide a basis for change. Data is most beneficial when it is reliable and valid, promotes reflection and action, and leads to timely and wise decision-making. Data is used to tell the story, understand the current reality, and improve.
