Hello! My name is Mrs. Gerleman.  I am a first grade teacher at Walnut Elementary.  This is my first year teaching first grade.  I graduated from Emporia State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  I team taught fourth grade with Mrs. Evans at Walnut through a program called Making the Grade.  Although I enjoyed fourth grade I am very excited to be working with first graders.

When I am not at school I enjoy doing outdoor activities.  I also like to watch movies and eat good food!  My husband, Dan, and I have been married for two years.  We spend most of our time with our families who all live out of town.  We are not usually home on the weekends unless our families come to visit us.

Our classroom goal is to learn how to read and write and enjoy it at the same time!
