English Language Acquisition

What is ELA?

The ELA program is designed to help support literacy skills.   Two literacy groups run throughout the day.  One is geared toward 1st and 2nd grade students and the other toward 3rd and 4th grade students.        We are incorporating guided reading, a reading program which is geared toward each student’s level so they are able to move up as they improve their literacy skills and strategies, listening comprehension, writing, word wall work, silent reading, and shared reading into our literacy groups.
We hope to see that "no child is left behind" and that every child succeeds to his/her potential.

Three students are using "hands on" technology to improve their English language skills.
