Philosophy:The Emporia High School Health Services Office promotes the health of students and school personnel through prevention, case finding, early intervention, and the remediation of specific health problems. Student health is promoted through provision of triage of illness/injuries, first aid, referral to community resources, direct nursing care, health counseling, and instruction.

Services are provided in a clinic setting by a registered nurse and a licensed practical nurse. In addition to Jackie Murray, RN, MSN and Janet Scheve, LPN, two nurse attendants assisting students in the classroom setting may also assist in the health office. The EHS Health Services Offices also serve as a clinical site for Emporia State University student nurses to learn about school health and the impact of school health on a student's academic success. In addition, the school nurses work with other agencies in providing servces to students at school. These agencies include Flint Hills Community Health Center, Project TEEN, SOS, SRS, Court Services, Newman Regional Health Center, Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas, ECKAN, and private physician/dentist/optometrist offices.
