Harold See graduated in 1962 from Emporia High School where he was involved
in debate, Key Club and Stage Craft. He received a bachelor’s degree from Emporia State
University, and a master’s degree in economics and a law degree from the University of Iowa.

During his professional career, he has taught economics at Illinois State
University and business at the University of Iowa. He practiced law in the firm of Sidley
& Austin in Chicago. In 1976, he joined the faculty at the University of Alabama School
of Law where he served as associate professor, professor, Herbert D. Warner Professor of
Law, and Director of International Study Programs. In 1996, he was elected Associate Justice of
the Alabama Supreme Court.

Justice See is a frequent speaker on legal topics and he has written or edited more
than 40 articles, chapters, reviews and journal articles on patents, trademarks, intellectual
property and other areas of business law.
