Counseling Mission Statement
A comprehensive Pre-K-12 program is an integral part of the educational process which emphasizes the importance of
counseling and guidance activities in the educational, career, personal, and social development of students. The purpose of
the program curriculum is to assist all students in developing skills and attitudes for living, learning, and
working within a diverse multicultural society. This developmental process includes individual and group
counseling, guidance activities, career education, testing, test interpretation, consultation, referral
processes, and enrollment and orientation procedures. Students will acquire, practice, and apply the
skills and attitudes developed through these activities.
Utilizing the leadership of school counselors, students, staff members, administrators, parents,
Board of Education members, and members of the community share responsibility for this mission.
