I strongly feel, and try to instill in my students, that the art of theatre has two main purposes - entertainment and education. This show is the latter. My students have not only learned about the true horrors that made up Vietnam, but they have learned so much about themselves. They have also been given the opportunity to meet and befriend several TRUE American heroes that live right here in their community. They have learned that theatre can be used to give back to those that deserve so much.
The true magic of theatre, and particularly this show, is how timely it can be. Whether it is Vietnam or Irag, this show teacher all of us, despite our view on war, that we must never forget ALL of those brave men and women who gave a piece of their heart so that we may enjoy our liberty and freedom. We thank those who gave some and remember those that gave all.
