Fetch (FTP client for Macintosh)

Fetch is a shareware FTP client for Macintosh computers. A version is available at no cost to educational institutions. You can download it here. A short tutorial hosted by Wellesley College is also available at http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/Fetch/fetch.html.

Configuring Fetch for your USD253 web site:

1. Open the Fetch application. If the "New Connection" is not open then click on File / New Connection.

2. Enter the information as shown above. Substitute the exact name of your site for "tutorial". For example, if your site address is http://www.usd253.org/~jsmith your directory entry will be Sites/jsmith. Do NOT enter the tilde symbol. Click OK

3. Click on "Put File" then browse to the folder containing your web files. Select the file you wish to upload to the server then click OK.

A Better & Quicker Alternative: Drag and drop files from your macintosh's directory into the Fetch file list window.
