I reside in Emporia with my wife, Jule, who is an officer in the Office of Student Financial Aid at Emporia State University. We have three grown children; Tell, a 6th grade teacher at Lowther North Intermediate School, USD 253. Tell's wife, Jessica, is a CPA in Emporia. Second son, Tyrel, is a foreman with TD Commercial Electric Corporation in Kansas City. Tyrel's wife, Emily, is an attorney in Kansas City. Third son, Daniel, is the Assistant Director of Bands at Blue Valley High School, in Stanley, KS. On Aug. 8, 2008, we were blessed with the birth of our first grandchild, Talon David Kirk, son of Tell and Jessica.
I believe children are our highest priority because they represent our future. They deserve the highest quality education that we can provide for them, in a safe, friendly, and academically rigorous environment.
