When to Stay Home - Guidelines
Students should not return to school after an illness until the have been temperature-free for 24 hours or have not vomited for 24 hours. This means that if your child is running a temperature of over 100 degrees or vomited the evening before, they cannot attend school the next day. This precaution will greatly decrease the number of colds and flu symptoms for the entire school population.
Vision Screening
This year, 2008-2009, is a vision screening year for all students. All students new to USD 253, kindergarten, and preschool students will have both vision and hearing screenings. Contact the school nurse or health office if you have any questions.
