Purpose/Mission: A non-profit drug and alcohol program (halfway house) for the recovering, chemically dependant

Service Provided: Residential living, alcohol/drug free environment, family-like atmosphere, individual counseling, group counseling, continued care, career planning, recreation programs, employment assistance, assertion training, AA/NA, evaluation and assessment, and outpatient treatment

Population Served: Men and women 16 years old and up who are chemically dependant.

Eligibility: Must be 16 years of age or older and be chemically dependant. Must have completed a primary treatment program prior to entering residential treatment.

Purpose/Mission: Provide drug/alcohol abuse prevention, education, and intervention services to the Emporia State University community. Tobacco cessation provided.

Service Provided: Alcohol Information School (On Campus Talking About Alcohol and Drugs) for campus members who have DUI or MIP issues. We do not provide the required evaluations; only the 8 hours on instruction.

Population Served: ESU campus community

Eligibility: Staff, faculty, student

Cost/Fees: All services are free except OCTAA which costs $75.00 unless students are referred by residential life

Purpose/Mission: Emporians for Drug Awareness is a partnership dedicated to preventing the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by youth, reducing the incidence of violence and associated adolescent problem behavior, and addressing the misuse of legal drugs by adults, including the manufacture, use and trafficking of illicit drugs, by facilitating alternative activities and implementing science-based prevention practices for families, schools and the community.

Service Provided: Variety of prevention programs and activities.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnostic Clinic

Service Provided: Diagnostic screenings for children and adults to assess for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effect and Alcohol Related Neurological Disorder; community support and services for families and children.

Additional Information: The Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnostic Clinic consists of a psychologist, social worker, physician, family advocate, public health nurse, language/speech therapist, and a physical therapist. FAS evaluations are done one day per month at Flint Hills Community Health Center. Testing is done on site, with the exception of psychological tests. If the applicant is screened in, psychological testing will need to be completed prior to the evaluation date.
