Parent Communication via SchoolMessenger

school messenger logo

The Emporia Public Schools uses the SchoolMessenger Notification System to provide timely communication to parents and staff members on matters such as attendance, event reminders, and campus and district emergencies. All parents will automatically receive notifications at the primary contact phone number listed on your students’ records. You also can opt-in to Text Messaging by sending a message of “Y” or “Yes” to 68453

In order to enhance our ability to accurately deliver that information, we invite parents to create a contact preference profile using SchoolMessenger’s Contact Manager web site. Activation codes are available from your school secretary or the Community Relations Office. This feature allows parents to control how you prefer to be contacted. It also works like a mailbox, giving you a place to review messages you may have missed. Find instructions for activating your account here.

The family of Doris Federick Peters traveled to Emporia today to dedicate a "buddy bench" on the playground where Mrs. Peters taught school for 25 years. Her daughters, Mary Lett, Karen Schaefer and Linda Murdock, and her brother, Larry Moreland, attended the ceremony this afternoon.

5th grader Clara Williams explained the purpose of a "buddy bench" - If students see a boy or girl sitting on the bench, they are encouraged to invite them to play. The family donated nearly $2,000 for the bench and three picnic tables for the playground. #EmporiaProud
