Parent Communication via SchoolMessenger

The Emporia Public Schools uses the SchoolMessenger Notification System to provide timely communication to parents and staff members on matters such as attendance, event reminders, and campus and district emergencies. All parents will automatically receive notifications at the primary contact phone number listed on your students’ records. You also can opt-in to Text Messaging by sending a message of “Y” or “Yes” to 68453

In order to enhance our ability to accurately deliver that information, we invite parents to create a contact preference profile using SchoolMessenger’s Contact Manager web site. Activation codes are available from your school secretary or the Community Relations Office. This feature allows parents to control how you prefer to be contacted. It also works like a mailbox, giving you a place to review messages you may have missed. Find instructions for activating your account here.

Lots of #EmporiaProud news this week!
EHS Sr Brianna Dougherty has been accepted to the Kansas City Art Institute & awarded a major scholarship based on her merit and portfolio review, according to her teacher Misty DeDonder. She is 1 of 6 EHS students recognized at the Scholastic Art Competition and her art portfolio has been selected in the top 5% of several other Art School applications.
From Ms. DeDonder: "Brianna is a great example of how Emporia High School is helping students make their dreams come true!"

It's time to pre-register for kindergarten if you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2017. We have sent letters to all families that we know of who will have new kdg students. If you did not get a letter, we want to hear from you! Please contact your neighborhood school or call us at Mary Herbert, 620-341-2200 to get your child on our list.

To clarify, the letters mailed this week say Kindergarten Pre-Registration is Monday & Tuesday, March 28 & 29. The days are wrong.

We will have three sessions March 28 & 29 - Tuesday at 6 pm & Wednesday at 10 am & 6 pm. We are resending those letters to ensure you have the correct information. Please help us spread the word.
