The end of a school year is a special time for all of us in education! We get to celebrate accomplishments and send our students on to new adventures in the next grade or to college and careers. In May, the elementary schools will bid a bittersweet farewell to fifth graders in anticipation of their middle school years. Eighth graders are more than ready to begin their high school careers, and some 300 seniors will graduate from Emporia High School.

Breakfast & lunch available free for children age 18 and younger at five sites this summer. Program opens Tuesday, May 28 and continues through August 13. See schedule here. (Spanish version)

Summer Open Libraries

Emporia students will have access to the school libraries two days a week for two hours each day during June & July. Students can check out books and ebooks at the six neighborhood elementary schools, Emporia Middle School & Emporia High School. This service is available to all Emporia students in public and private schools. See the schedule for each building.
