Free Athletic Physicals May 2 at EHS
Free Athletic Physicals Available May 2 at EHS
Free athletic physicals are scheduled Monday, May 2, at Emporia High School for students who will be in grades 8-12 in 2016-17. EHS staff and community health professionals provide the examinations at no charge to students who will be participating in athletics. Girls’ physicals will begin at 6 pm and boys’ physicals will begin when the girls’ physicals are completed at approximately 7 pm.
Students who plan to participate in any EHS sports during the next school year cannot practice until a physical dated May 1, 2016, or after is on file in the athletic office. Students should pick up a physical examination form in the athletic office or from the school nurse. All four pages of the form must be completed and signed by the student and parent or guardian prior to the clinic. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents can expect the process to take one to two hours or more to complete, depending on attendance.
A doctor will determine if a student passes the physical and may refer the student for an office visit to his or her family physician if it is deemed necessary.
EHS administration appreciates the time that doctors, nurses, physical therapists, community members and office staff volunteer to provide the clinic each spring.
