GCG – Probation
New hourly classified employees are subject to a probationary period.
Probationary employees are those: on a 30-working day minimum period of employment (excluding non-working days) during which time employees have an opportunity to demonstrate proper attitudes and abilities for the position for which employed or former employees who have been rehired after a year or more separation. Employees who have transferred from one job category to a different category within the district may also be subject to the probationary period. The administrator responsible for supervising the employee will make the determination regarding the necessity for the probationary period. (Employees on a probationary basis may be dismissed without a ten work day written notice.)
Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period, the immediate supervisor and/or principal shall jointly submit to the district human resources officer a completed district evaluation. The district human resources officer and the superintendent may review the employment recommendation prior to placement on an Agreement of Employment.
